I really do not understand this. Here in Seoul, there is a sort of G20 fever. Today, when I went to work, it felt like I had a police escort – police are everywhere.
Yet, across the world, it seems nobody cares anymore about the G20 summit. The BBC carries just a second level article about the G20, the telegraph newspaper has nothing, and the most popular newspapers, The Sun and The Mirror appear to not even realise the G20 is going ahead.
Yet, the Korean government seems to have spent millions on the G20, newspapers, here, carry stories about how this will change Korea's standing in the world and regular Korean office workers, working in and around the COEX area are experiencing real inconvenience.
But the world problems still exist don't they? A meeting of the top 20 economic countries' leaders should be headline news around the world – or is it we simply do not care anymore?
