The Case for a Hybrid Productivity System.
I have been experimenting with a hybrid system over the last two years. It was this experiment that had me going back to the Franklin Planner, creating different layouts in notebooks and, well, basically having a lot of fun.
During this experiment, something struck me. My ability to focus significantly improved.
This focus wasn’t about being able to focus longer on any one task; it was about becoming more resistant to distractions.
Before I brought notebooks back into my life, when I wanted to see what I needed to do next, I would open Todoist, look at my list of tasks for the day, and invariably choose the easiest one (which was often the lowest-value one).
When I began writing down my most important tasks in a day planner, I no longer went “hunting” in Todoist for something easy to do; I focused on knocking out my most important tasks for the day. And they got done!
But it went beyond that. Ideas I had while working at my desk could be quickly captured in the notebook and processed later if they were any good.
And… One bonus: my screen time dropped dramatically. I was no longer glued to my phone late at night. I had my “day book” with me and planned my day on paper before going to bed.
When the day starts, I’m focused on what matters, not distracted by a list of tasks, some of which are important and others not.
And so, I’m excited to announce that I have put everything I have learned over the last two years into a brand new course called the Hybrid Productivity System.
Based on the fundamentals of COD and the Time Sector System, the course is designed for those who enjoy using digital tools but love their pens and paper (basically, if you're like me!). This course combines the best of both worlds to create a hybrid productivity system.
It also shows you how to set up your own Day Book, use the Planning Book, and do daily and weekly planning in a hybrid environment. (Plus a few bonuses along the way)
You can learn more about this special course here.
If you want to create a hybrid system that is focused and uniquely yours, then this might just be the course for you.
